Julie Houck works in oils and encaustics and her classical atelier training honed her technique of painting in numerous transparent layers in order to recreate the subtle interplay of light in her work. "Cumulation" contains six canvases depicting soothing clouds and landscapes. Each piece is framed with a carved golden surround, a 6.5" white linen matte, then a floating box frame in an antique gold leaf finish that replicates the carved surround.
